About TaylorMade Golf
TaylorMade Golf is a leading manufacturer of golf equipment which includes drivers, fairway woods and hybrids, irons, clubs, wedges, putters and golf balls. TaylorMade is dedicated to being the best-performance golf company in the world with its new innovations and technologies. TaylorMade is a subsidiary of Adidas Golf Group, a leading sports manufacturer, and is officially known as TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company (TMaG).
TaylorMade Golf was started in 1979 by Gary Adams who is considered the father of today's metal wood. TaylorMade Golf was acquired by Salomon S.A. in 1984 and the company benefited from the worldwide presence of Salomon S.A. In 1997, the Adidas Group bought a controlling interest in Salomon and the focus was directed to make TaylorMade Golf a leader in golf drivers.
TaylorMade went on to become number one in golf drivers in 2005. Since then, the company has continued to deliver itself as one of the leaders in golf drivers on tours. The R11S and TaylorMade RBZ RocketBallz drivers are the latest offerings from TaylorMade and have proved very successful with the golfers. The R11 driver features Adjustable Sole Plate technology, Flight Control technology and Movable Weight technology which allows golfers to customise the R11 for increased distance and accuracy. The Burner driver features improved SuperFast technology and a more aerodynamic clubhead shape which makes it longer, lighter and faster.
TaylorMade Golf entered the golf ball business through its acquisition of Maxfli, a sports equipment brand which is mostly known for its golf balls. This enabled TaylorMade to launch Penta TP golf ball, the first five-layer tour golf ball with each layer giving optimum performance. The company's innovation in golf balls continued with the launch of Burner tour golf balls.
Today, TaylorMade Golf also owns the Ashworth and adidas golf brands and have new products such as the TaylorMade R11S TP Driver and TaylorMade RocketBallz RBZ TP Driver Over the last three decades, the company has continued to deliver an impressive presence as a leading golf manufacturer. The top-ranking professional golf players, including Martin Kaymer, Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson, trust TaylorMade's golf equipment on greens.
