This season Cleveland drivers have been made lighter and the main emphasis on weight reduction, Cleveland Golf has consistently produced some of the lightest drivers and this year's editions are no exception. Equipped with Premium Miyazaki shafts, Cleveland's 2013 edition drivers are 30 to 50 grams lighter than most of the drivers available on the market. Sporting the deepest and largest clubfaces, these drivers provide the golfer with an effective hitting area that equates to more forgiveness and higher confidence on and off the tee.
The new models are now available and this year theyunveils 3 exciting new drivers: the Classic XL Driver, the Classic XL Custom Driver, and the CG Black Driver.
Available in 9, 10.5 and 12 degree lofts, the Classic XL has that sleek retro-look and now comes in an all black finish along with the standard Premium Miyazaki shaft.
An updated version of the 2012 Classic design, the 2013 Classic XL model has a center of gravity that has been moved deeper into the clubhead and an Enhanced Variable Face Thickness design. Weighing in at 285 grams, the Classic XL's enhanced variable face thickness, optimized center of gravity and shaft all come together to deliver higher swing speeds, a higher launch angle and a more penetrating ball flight that results in greater distances off the tee.
Also available are the left-handed men's edition which comes with 9 and 10.5 degree lofts and the Ladies version which comes in 10.5 degrees and HT loft.
Cleveland Classic XL Custom Driver
Retro meets high-tech in this adjustable version of the Classic XL. Equipped with an adjustable hosel and interchangeable weight ports, the Classic XL Custom is a tuneable version of the Classic XL. Adjustability in bias and weight provides every golfer with a custom-fit experience for control and performance without sacrificing any of the classic design.
By adjusting the bias from neutral to fade or draw and adjusting the placement of the weights, players will be able to produce any preferred shape of ball's flight. This technology, along with the Classic XL's deep center of gravity and Enhanced Variable Face Thickness Design, gives the player maximum distance and total control of the ball upon impact.
Available in 7.5, 9.0 and 10.5 degree loft, only the 7.5 is unavailable in the Left-handed Men's edition.
Designed to allow golfers to swing faster with the same swing effort , the Cleveland CG Black Driver comes equipped with Ultralite Technology to reduce weight, Speed Crown Design to reduce airflow drag and the MaxCOR2 Variable Face Thickness Technology to further reduce weight from the clubface and increase the trampoline effect on even less-than-perfect shots.
It is one of the lightest drivers anywhere in the market at a mere 265 grams. The reduced weight and aerodynamic teardrop design allows the golfer to swing the club at a measurably higher swing speed while the trampoline effect causes the ball to fly farther without any additional effort on the part of the golfer. Like all Cleveland clubs, the CG Black Driver comes provided with standard Premium Miyazaki shaft and lightweight grips from Golf Pride and Lamkin.
The standard right-hand men's edition of the CG Black is available in 9.0, 10.5 and 12 degree loft, whereas the left-handed version is available only with 9.0 and 10.5 degree loft.
