You get given a set of eight questions, and if you answer these honestly, you should get some great guidance as to which wedge you should choose.

The first question asks what is your handicap or average score.

The next question it asks is: What is the loft of your pitching wedge? (this is the one that follows your number nine iron. (Most wedges are 46 degrees, but this does vary with different brands).

Once they know your pitching wedge loft, they will then ask for your most lofted wedge. Many golfers have a lob wedge, which is 60 degrees, but check on the sole or edge of your club to determine the correct loft.

Titleist Wedge Selector Question 3

Once the Titleist selector tool knows your highest and lowest wedge lofts, it wants to know what type of swing you have and asks you what type of divot you take. They want this information as it will help them know what bounce angle to advise.

The options to choose from are whether your style is that of a Sweeper, a Digger or a more neutral style.

Once it knows a little about your swing, it wants to know what shots you hit with certain clubs. Some players like various clubs to play certain shots, whereas others prefer to use one club to do various shots. This question helps them assess how many clubs they are likely to need

Now that it has this information, it wants to know what golf course you generally play on. If you play on a dry links course, it will make a different recommendation if you play on a wetter, soft inland course.

The options here are Firm, Slightly Firm, Neutral, Slightly Soft and Soft. They do have a small check box for you to read to understand the different fairway conditions, which is worth reading.

They want to know what type of sand is in the bunkers at the course you typically play at. This will range from firm to soft. Once again, a small pop-up link gives more information on the bunker conditions. and this is certainly worth reading.

The final question asks how confident you are at getting out of a bunker. The options here run from Low to High. This, again, is helping them assess how much loft to recommend and what bounce might suit you best.

Finally, it will give you a recommendation and a few words from Bob Vokey on why they chose it. Me when I did this test, I was fairly happy with its recommendation as it made sense. However, I would have probably chosen only three of the wedges instead of the four.
