Which Grind are you? The Titleist Vokey SM6 Wedge Grinds Explained.

The Titleist Vokey wedge has been a short game classic and master crafted as some of the very best wedges in golf. Designed and created by another legendary craftsman, Bob Vokey the Titleist Golf Vokey wedge has been through many changes over the years, but still has the same fundamentals, spin milled for precise distance and exceptional feel.

The Vokey SM6 wedge, craft inspired, tour validated. What Titleist wanted to achieve with this years SM6 wedges, was to establish a new performance standard in the three key areas of wedge play, precise distance gapping, shot versatility and maximum spin.

The Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges come available in a loft range, running from 46 degree – 62 degree in RH and LH and three classic finishes in, Tour Chrome, Steel Grey and Jet Black.

The Titleist Vokey SM6 Wedge Grinds.

One of the fantastic features, that has been incorporated into the SM6 Vokey wedges, is the new wedge grinds that have been designed, offering the perfect combination in loft, bounce and grind for every golfer.

5 new grinds have been created in L,S,K,M,F but what do these grinds really mean and how do I know which one is best suited for me?

Let us explain to you the 5 grind options that Titleist have created.

 

The L Grind has been designed for a shallow, sweeping style of golf swing, best used in firm conditions and the perfect combination in loft for a 58 or 60 degree wedge with 4 degree’s of bounce, for those high lofted flop shots or getting yourself out of a green side bunker. Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 12.02.43

In the M Grind this is also very similar, Neutral to shallow, sweeping swing, but for firm to medium course conditions and a wider range of loft combinations to suit, running from 54 – 62 with 8 degree of bounce. Preferred for pitching in and around the green.

The S Grind has been shaped for a Neutral to Steep swing style for those of you who dig into the ground more. Best suited for medium to soft course conditions and the perfect loft combination ranges from 54 – 60 with 10 degree’s in bounce. Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 12.03.02

F Grind is probably the one grind that has the most versatility in the collection, designed as an all rounder to suit most swing types and styles. The F grind is perfectly matched to a wider array of lofts and bounce, that ranges from 46 – 56 degree. You could use this grind in all aspects of your short game. Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 12.03.14

The K Grind has been designed for a steep swing, but with high loft and bounce. The perfect combination is 58 – 60 degree’s. You would expect to use this again for higher flighted shots around the green and out of bunkers.
