Jason Day Wins The Dell Match Play
Another Win For Injured Jason Day at The WGC Dell Match Play we take a look at Whats in The Bag..
Through out last week and over the easter weekend, we had The WGC Dell Match Play Championship taking place in Austin Texas. A superb event with some fantastic match up’s as the worlds best players came together to take each other on in match play golf format. It proved to be Jason Day the Australian who prevailed to take 1st Prize and win the WGC Dell Match Play.
Match Play is always an exiting format of golf to watch, as players go head to head with each other in a fiercely competitive battle. Some Big name stars dropped to there knees and lesser ranked players proved their worth. One of the biggest giant killings of the week, was the match between Phil Mickelson a firm favourite & Patrick Reed. The match played out with Patrick Reed giving Big Phil a thumping and Winning 5 and 4. However Patrick Reed couldn’t continue this form and it proved to be another win for Jason Day.
It was a remarkable story for Jason Day’s win in the WGC Dell Match Play. Fresh from winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational Jason Day was a firm favourite to continue in his fine form, however it wasn’t completely straight forward for him. There became a twist in the tale when Jason Day looked in some serious doubt of contention to continue playing in the event, during his first round game against Graeme McDowell, he pulled a muscle in his back, despite this slight set back during the match Jason Day came out on top to beat Graeme McDowell 3 and 2 which then set him up on his way to the final to play against South African Louis Oosthuizen a thrilling display of golf lead to the Australian Winning 5 and 4 complete domination as he also regained the World No.1 Spot.
Back to back wins proves he is certainly doing something right and he must be a Hot favourite in this years Masters that is just around the corner this April.
