The Driver Buyer Guide
My Golf Spy put out a guide for buying a driver that is spectacular. The advice and guide are not for those of you see fitters, this is a guide for those buying your first driver or who like to buy off the rack.
If this isn’t your first go at it, bring your old club. No good golfer replaces a club without knowing its better than their previous- that’s why it makes news when a pro replaces, because their livelihood relies on those sticks. A side-by-side comparison is needed.
When your hitting the club you may want to drop a lot of money on, make sure your hitting it further and better with a launch monitor. This is a tool that has become a necessity when it comes to comparing clubs because, guess what, what you think is better may not be. Be a little analytic about the purchase. While you’re doing this, average your shots. One shot does not a better club make, make sure your taking an average of your shots to know which club will be better play by play.
