No Conspiracy in McIlroy Case

By on December 15, 2019

The Dublin High Court has said that there is “not a shred of evidence” that Rory McIlroy was involved in a conspiracy to plan his exit from a contract with his former sports management company. They further explained that such a claim by a lawyer for Horizon Sports Management and two other companies was “inherently implausible”.

Horizon took to court for the right to forensically inspect McIlroy’s phones over a three year period which had been effectively dealt with during another hearing earlier this year. The new debacle has Horizon claiming that McIlroy deliberately wiped data off of their phones that could have been relevant to the case.

McIlroy has stated that resetting his phones is something he does for privacy and storage space, especially since he gives many of his old phones away for charity. McIlroy is suing Horizon claiming the representation agreement is unenforceable on grounds including undue influence.
