There are many golf inventions that we under-appreciate, simply because we never had to use the old fashioned version of them in the past. We’ve always had the luxury of being able to purchase cheap balls and tees, without considering what existed before them.

This is a very interesting list of 15 golf inventions you probably under-appreciate, that will have you thinking about how lucky you are to have the equipment you own the next time you use it. It starts with the molded golf ball, which evolved from the hard wooden balls, followed by Featheries, the Haskell ball, and the Balata era.

The list continues with various items from steel shafted golf clubs, to irrigation systems. There are also rules that have evolved or were invented which add to the enjoyment of the game, such as the 14-club rule.
