Ryder Cup VP Criticizes Sir Nick Faldo
Sam Torrance, Ryder Cup vice-captain, criticized Sir Nick Faldo after he labelled Sergio Garcia as “useless” shortly before this year’s tournament. Faldo said that he felt Garcia had shown a “bad attitude” in the 2008 Ryder Cup event that Faldo led Europe to defeat.
Torrance said that it was pathetic for Faldo to say that right in the middle of the Ryder Cup. Afterwards, Faldo softened his stance, while the much younger Garcia, said he was willing to “forgive and forget”. But Torrance doesn’t have the same amount of forgiveness, he is so exasperated by Faldo’s comments that he added, “It was beyond belief that one of our greatest ever players would come out with a comment like that. Garcia’s not a team player? Have a look in the mirror, pal.
Torrance definitely has Garcia’s back on this issue, what do you think of it?
