Unlike most junior clubs, the Ping Prodi G can be ordered fully custom-fitted, so the set is tailored to your child’s age and height from day one. If you buy at least five Prodi G clubs in a single transaction, the junior is entitled to a one-time, no-charge service to have the clubs re-shafted, lengthened, re-weighted and re-gripped. In practical terms, there is no need to buy a whole new set as your child grows between roughly 7 and 13.

How to Fit Ping Prodi G Clubs to Your Child
Fitting is wonderfully simple. You take two measurements, then read off the lie angle (colour code), shaft flex, club length and even the right bag from the Ping Colour Code Chart. It helps to print the chart so you can mark it as you measure.

The Colour Code Key (Lie Angle)
Working out the lie angle (colour code) is only needed for irons, wedges and putters. The colour you land on tells you the lie:
If you do not land on a colour, go down to green or up to orange. If a box shows two colours, use the darker one. Write the colour down, you will need it to order.
Step by Step
Step 1: Measure wrist to floor
With your child standing in golf shoes or trainers (anything with a similar heel depth), measure from the crease of the wrist to the floor, in inches or centimetres. Find that measurement down the left-hand side of the chart.
Step 2: Measure overall height
Measure your child’s overall height, again in golf shoes or similar footwear, in inches or centimetres. Find that measurement along the top of the chart.
Step 3: Find where they intersect
Follow the wrist-to-floor row across until it meets the height column. The box where they intersect gives you the colour (lie angle), and you will read the flex, length and bag from the same box.

What flex do I need?
From the same intersection box, look to the top of the chart to read the shaft flex, either regular or stiff. Write it down for ordering.
What length do I need?
Look at the bottom of the chart for the plus or minus to add or remove a standard length. There are separate figures for drivers, fairways and hybrids, irons, and putters.
Which bag fits best?
Follow the same box down, and the chart shows either the Ping Prodi G 30 bag or the Ping Hoofer Prodi G34, depending on your child’s height.

What is Ping’s Get Golf Growing programme?
It is a one-time free re-fit service when you buy five or more Prodi G clubs.
Ping will re-shaft, lengthen, re-weight, and re-grip the clubs to the junior’s new size as they grow, so that a single set can last from roughly ages 7 to 13. As Mark puts it, you can effectively get two sets for the price of one.
Which clubs need a lie angle (colour code)?
Only the irons, wedges and putters.
The colour code from the chart sets the lie angle for those clubs. Drivers, fairways and hybrids are fitted for length and flex rather than lie angle.
What if my child doesn’t land on a colour, or lands on two?
If there is no colour, go down to green or up to orange; if there are two, use the darker colour.
Then write down that single colour, as you will need it when you order. When in doubt, our PGA team can double-check your measurements.
Can I buy Prodi G clubs individually?

Which putter should I choose, the Anser or the Tyne H?
Both are excellent; it comes down to your child’s preference.
