Jimmy Walker PGA Championship Winner
Jimmy Joins the first time Major Winners Club!
The 98th PGA Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club, in Springfield New Jersey, the final and fourth Major of the Season, as golf’s elite players battled it out for the Wanamaker Trophy. The weeks play bought some diverse and challenging weather conditions at Batusrol for the PGA Championship, but that could not falter the performance of American, Texan Jimmy Walker who produced some fantastic Golf to join the first time Major Winners Club this season. All four of this years major’s have been won by players for the first time as Jimmy Walker, joins Danny Willett, Dustin Johnson and Henrik Stenson among golf’s Major Winners.
Walker held his nerve on all four days to produce some excellent Golf as the rest of the field played catch up. World No.1 Jason Day and last year’s winner of the trophy, was determined not to let it go and reclaim his PGA Championship Title. The pair went right to the wire in a fierce contest. A superb eagle at 18, on Major Sunday, put Jason Day 1 shot behind Jimmy Walker’s lead, putting the pressure on. Walker remained un-nerved and claimed his first Major Victory with a flawless round to finish off with a 67 total of 266 -14 Under Par.
