What NOT to do at a PGA Tour Event

If you’re heading to a PGA Tour event, you might want to make sure you don’t do one of these 10 things that will automatically make you that guy on the golf course. Golf fans should know that there is a golf etiquette to follow, on and off the field. These 10 things are actually pretty hilarious…as long as you’re not the one doing them.

First is not wearing your golf shoes to the event, if you’re not playing in it. Caddies don’t even wear golf shoes and they actually do walk on the course, so you don’t need to wear them either. Second is not being the beer-and-cigar guy, who usually travels in packs of other obnoxious guys, carrying a plastic beer cup in one hand, and cigar in the other. Gross.

Some of the rest have to do with keeping your mouth shut. Don’t yell things as a pro is about to tee off, don’t offer on-course commentary, and don’t continue to try to sneak by when the marshals have raised the quiet signs. All three of those are not only against golf etiquette, but are also just plain rude.
