Selecting the correct loft for your Ping Fairway or Hybrid

By correctly fitting your Ping fairway or hybrid can really boost player confidence and allow the golfer to play their best golf. You need to consider the important role in distance gapping as this allows greater accuracy and shop dispersion. Your goal is fill the distance between your driver and your longest iron.  Below you will see a chart that uses your swing speed as a starting point in determining an initial recommendation for the different lofts and models available. We are very happy for your to call on of our Ping fitters to discuss this further.

The shaft influences your shot

Ping Fairways and Hybrids can be fitted with a wide range of available shaft choices. Different shaft types and flexes are used to fit varying swing speeds, swing tendencies and ball flight preferences.

By using shafts with different characteristics such as flex and trajectory can really help finetune the golfers ball flight. We want to make sure you fully understand the benefit of proper shaft selection and recommend you get in contact with us to discuss your needs.

Grip Size Matters

It is long been identified though player testing that grip size does influence ball flight. Ping grips are available in six sizes and using their colour code chart it is easy to find out your recommendation. Using your normal glove hand, measure the overall length of your hand from the wrist crease to the end of your longest finger. Next measure the distance between the longest finger to the crease where that finger joins the palm. Simply refer these measurements to the chart to find your code.

Please don't be fooled by the importance in getting your grip size correct. If you fall between two colours please discuss this with us as a smaller option may help in reducing a fade or slice, opposed to a slightly larger grip may benefit players looking to reduce a draw or hook.
