Golf doesn’t look the same. It scarcely resembles the game the Scottish developed so long ago. Watching the technological progress of the game is fascinating. From balls to clubs to, well, everything, the game has been changed so much it’s mind-boggling.<\/p>\n
We started with wooden balls, if you can believe it. It’s a strange image to have, smacking a wooden ball with a wood shafted club, neither of which are particularly efficient when it comes to force nor aerodynamics. The cost has come down too- Featheries would cost around \u00a3<\/span>12 per ball! Imagine hitting one of those into the water. <\/span><\/p>\n The lawn mower may not seem like something that would effect the game that much at first, until you realize how old the game is. Grazing sheep were once the ones who cleared the fairways and greens, imagine how rough the lays were then. Add to that the fact that dirt and sand were used as a form of tee before the advent of the little pegs, and that all makes for a pretty uneven game. <\/span><\/p>\n
