By on January 1, 2023

Ping Prodi G Junior Clubs – golf clubs that grow when you grow.

The latest range of Ping Prodi G golf clubs offer the junior golfer the same score-lowering technology of Ping adult clubs but are custom-engineered to fit golfers of ages between 7 to 13 and between 4′ 5″ and 5′ 2″.

What sets these clubs apart from previous models is that they can be ordered fully custom fit, enabling the junior golfer to tailor them perfectly to his or her age and height. On top, Ping’s revolutionary  “Get Golf Growing” program means that if you buy at least five Ping Prodi G clubs in one transaction, the golfer is entitled to a one-time, no-charge service to have the clubs re-shafted or lengthened, re-weighted, and re-gripped. So the bottom line is that there is no need to change the set as the junior grows between the ages of 7 and 13.

How do I work out the best fit for my child?

To make things nice and simple, use the Ping Colour Code Chart below to find the best fit. You can print this out if needed, which may help when you are measuring your child.

Working Out the Lie Angle (Colour Code) is only needed for irons, wedges and putters

Step One – Measure between the wrist to the floor in either inches or centimetres and find the measurement on the left-hand side of the chart. Make sure you measure accurately from the crease of the wrist. The top tip is to be wearing golf shoes or something similar, like trainers, that have the same heel depth)

Step Two – Measure the overall height of the junior golfer in either inches or centimetres and find the measurement along the top of the chart. Again make sure golf shoes or something similar is being worn.

Step Three – Using both measurements, simply find the box where they intercept. For example,  follow the row along from the wrist to floor measurement and stop when it intercepts the column of your overall height.

This will then give you a colour. These colours refer to lie angles, with green being 2 degrees upright, blue being 1 degree upright, black as standard, red as 1 degree flat, and orange as 2 degrees flat. If you do not produce colour, you need to go down to green or up to orange! If you have two colours in the same box, go with the greater colour. Write this colour down as you will need it to order.

What flex do I need?

By using the same method as above, look again at the box where the two measurements meet.

Looking up to the top of the chart, you will see the shaft flex as either regular or stiff. Again, write this down as you will need it when ordering.

What length do I need?

Using the same method, look again at the box where the two measurements meet. Looking to the bottom of the chart, you will see the +’s or -‘s  that need to be added or taken off a standard length club. There is separate results for (Drivers, Fairways and Hybrids), Irons and Putters.  Again, write this down as you will need it when ordering.

What golf bag would best fit these clubs?

Using the same method, look again at the box where the two measurements meet. Follow the chart down, and you will see either a Ping Prodi G 30 Bag or Ping Hoofer Prodi G34 depending on the golfers’ height
