Wilson Wedges News, Advide and Buyers Guide

When it comes to choosing professional irons, one of the brands that Tour players love is Wilson. This company had long acquired popularity when it comes to sporting goods, and that includes golfing gear. Now, this sporting brand has recently introduced the Wilson Staff FG Tour TC wedges. Find out if this iron meets your pro golfing needs by taking a closer look.

The New Wedge from Wilson

This popular sporting brand had already released a nifty wedge earlier in the original FG Tour, but it seems that the company went back to the drawing board to present a 2nd generation version of the original one, taking it to the next level. What do they have in mind? They are thinking to outperform any other wedge that they have released.

Outperformance Discussed

When they said that they will give a better performance, Wilson did it by giving their buyers a number of options to match their demands for varying games and different terrains. With the new Wilson Staff FG Tour TC, a player is given two soles – the traditional for players who hit medium to steep angle attack, and Tour grind for players that hit with shallow to medium angle attacks and have higher demands when it comes to control and versatility around the greens.

This new Wilson wedge also comes with a lot of configurations (86, to be precise) with 13 different sole/loft bounce options. This iron is also best for those who want a wedge specific grip, which is an inch longer and with less taper for a more measured fee.

Better Spin

If you think like a pro player, you know that full shots play a minimal role in golf, and that is what Wilson has in mind when they introduced this wedge. They also introduced the Tour-Y Groove that gives another configuration that could give golfers larger grooves and 200-300 RPM spins on full shots. On tests performed, partial shots (3/4 and ½) get 350 rpm and 390 rpm more spins. With these results, they clearly outperform competition.

Who Uses this Wilson?

This new wedge from Wilson is enjoying mileage as the choice of pro golfers like Padraig Harrington, Ricky Barnes, Kevil Streelman and Paul Lawrie. As reviews say about this wedge, a lot of Tour professionals are happy with the sleek look and versatility of the second-generation wedge from Wilson.
