One book on golf advises us to take advantage of this effective ‘brain hack’ to literally self-hypnotize through visualization and ensure the solidity of your mental game. ‘Golfers Guide to Mental Fitness: How to Train Your Mind and Achieve Your Goals Using Self-Hypnosis and Visualization’, may have the longest title of a book you’ve seen, but the theory in it is exceptional. John Weir, the author, is a man who has dedicated his life to not just improving others’ games, but their lives overall.

It may sound silly, self-hypnosis, but it is based in solid psychological science and it’s designed basically to get passed that problem almost all of us have with our game- that nagging doubt about how we will hit the ball.
