Battle Of The Brands!
Who will win this weekends battle of the brands?
The Worlds Top 5 players all play with different brands of clubs, who will win this weekends battle of the brands in a showdown at The 2016 Masters.
We take a look and give you an insight into the worlds top 5 players and the brands they represent, what they are currently playing and the form they are currently in, going into this weeks Masters at Augusta National.
World No.#1 Jason Day – TaylorMade Tour Staff Player
Born in Australia Jason has been in really good form this year. Coming into 2016 ranked #2 he slipped slightly to #3 before regaining his form. Wins at the Arnold Palmer and WGC Dell Matchplay has seen his ranking increase to #1.
Jason has had some injuries during the last three years but he is fully fit and when he’s fit he always contends.
World No. #2 Jordan Spieth – Titleist Tour Staff Player
Born in Texas, USA Jordan really hit the headlines last year with back to back majors at The Masters & US Open. Going into this year as raining champion pressure will be on him to perform. Starting 2016 ranked #1 he has slipped slightly to world #2. His form this year has been consistent but so far has not had any wins since the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in late January.
Jordan is not a long hitter but is very accurate. He also is one of the best putters on tour which may prove crucial come Sunday afternoon.
World No. #3 Rory Mcilroy – Nike Golf Tour Staff Player
Born in Hollywood, Northern Ireland, Rory is our highest ranked European player. Rory’s best season was 2014/2015 and has amassed three majors so far. Rory does carry pressure regarding The Masters as he had a poor final round in 2011 where he was the outright leader. His form this year has been slightly inconsistent, however recently he seems to had hit some better results.
Rory has a complete all round game, hitting the ball long and straight with good imagination. His practise round a few days ago produced a hole in one on the 16th. Write Rory off at your peril
World No. #4 Bubba Watson – Ping Tour Staff Player
Born in USA, Bubba has won two majors both being at The Masters. Starting 2016 as world #4 he soon slipped to #6 after a poor result at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am where he was tied 70th. He bounced back the following week winning the Northern Trust Open. Generally his form this year has been consistent and will be a strong contender this week.
Bubba is one of the longest hitters on tour and can shape the ball very well on those long Augusta fairways. Could this be #3 for Bubba!
World No. #5 Rickie Fowler – Cobra Staff Player
Rickie born in USA has been in good form this year. He won Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and is currently #5 in the world.
In 2015 Rickie started working with Butch Harmon, his swing coach, and his form and consistency has improved dramatically.
Fowler continues to turn heads with his quiet dignity and competitive edge and is a top tip for this weeks Masters.
